The house of all things equestrian, Hermés has launched a 14-piece fine jewelry collection designed by Pierre Hardy.

Hermes Launches Haute Bijouterie

Hermes Haute Bijouterie
In true Hermés fashion, their 14-piece fine jewelry collection designed by Pierre Hardy is über chic without being over-the-top. The company prefers the name “haute bijouterie” for the collection, in order to emphasize the focus on shapes and designs drawn from its equestrian leanings. Hardy tells WWD: “I simply went back to its roots and to the horse’s hoof, taking the roughest, strongest, almost radical element and giving it the most feminine, the most modern interpretation.”

We here at StyledOn applaud the inspiration and direction Hardy chose – the few pieces we have seen so far (pictured here) are quite stunning and decidedly unique. The Centaure ring (above left) is made in rose gold with a large black jade stone in the shape of a horse’s hoof, ringed with brilliant cut diamonds at the setting. The Fouet necklace (at left), is a platinum whip set with 3,669 diamonds, totaling a whopping 36.16 carats. Not sparing any detail, Hermés will be packaging these precious pieces in custom-made boxes made with black alligator leather. Unsurprisingly, however, the jewelry (whether you prefer the designation “haute bijouterie” or otherwise) will cost you more than a pretty penny. Clip-on earrings start at over $23,000, and the Fouet necklace will run you about $880,000. Pending a winning lotto ticket, we’re putting these pieces on our lust lists for now.

Are you all about equestrian-inspired accessories this year?
