When it comes to fashion, our favorite looks are most often those that appear completely effortless. Here's how to create your own fashionable, non-fussy look for the fall...

E is for Effortless Dressing

Every single staff member of StyledOn muttered, “That is EXACTLY what I want to look like everyday” when Celine's Fall 2010 collection hit the runway. Why? Because the girls in the show looked fresh, professional, comfortable, and so polished that it almost hurt. They weren't overdone at all. So how to get this look without spending a fortune on the exact pieces off the runways? Here's how...

1. Stick to neutrals. We all love color, but the truly effortlessly-chic looks this fall were those made up of white, ivory, camel, gray, navy and black pieces.

2. When shopping don't buy items to simply fill a void; buy pieces that you really love and you'll feel amazing each and every time you wear them.

3. Invest in staple separates. With a handful of amazing separate pieces, you'll end up with many different chic looks that will not only look effortless, but will ease that I-have-nothing-to-wear-in-the-morning anxiety. For a super chic blouse that won't break the bank entirely, look at those currently offered by Equipment (like the one above) or Zara. For trousers, hit up Theory or Alice + Olivia. For blazers, try Reiss, BCBG, or Club Monaco. Skip the trendy-trendy pieces and invest in those with classic shapes, good hardware and amazing fabric.

4. Dress for your body, and your body alone. Stop trying to mold your body into something it isn't. Embrace what you've got and figure out what will be the most flattering to your curves.

5. Keep your make-up as natural as possible and your hair simple. Lower, slightly messy ponytails and just a bit of black eyeliner up top is really all you need.

What's your secret to effortless dressing?
