Brighten things up inside with our favorite glass pieces from Tracy Glover, Baccarat, iittala and Crate & Barrel.

In a Glass House

I'm a sucker for beautiful glass and fell in love with Tracy Glover's pieces (above) the minute I saw them. Feminine and fantastic, Glover's drawer and door knobs add a personal touch to any space, while her bud vases are some of the best I've seen lately – especially for the price of $81.

Crate & Barrel comes up with a few really great vases each season and right now, the Lima vases (which are currently on sale for $14.95) are hitting the spot. With waves of citrus yellow, green and white, these vases are handblown into a slim, rounded shape with narrow neck.

Another glass object we love? The limited edition iittala Birds by Giorgio Vigna are true collector items and we're obsessed with them. Made from layers of hot glass formed in a mold, the head and the body are created separately and joined while the glass is hot. Vigna’s Birds are sculptural and characterized by a strong symbolic meaning. They all range in price and each one is available for a limited time only. See the site for more information.

And if you've ever wondered what illuminates our dream house? That would be a Baccarat Zenith Chandelier – in black, of course. But alas... at $82,800 this one might always remain on the wishlist.

Do glass objects inspire your home decor?

Such a great article! I might have to spring for that bead bud vase, it's so unique and pretty!
