Good Eats: Delicatessen
Tap It!

Just around the corner from our offices is Delicatessen, a favorite stand-by for a delicious lunch outside in the sunshine.

This just in: NYC will be experiencing 70 degree (plus!) weather for the next week. We’re not putting all our Easter Eggs in one basket just yet, but we are taking stock of our favorite places to grab a tasty lunch in the sunshine, and lucky for us, one of them is just around the corner.
With delicious sandwiches and salads, crispy calamari and a taste-tacular bucket of fried chicken, there is definitely something for everyone at Delicatessen. Vegetarians (or veggie lovers) will swoon for the open-faced grilled vegetable pita with hummus, or the roasted squash salad with grilled apple, arugula, pumpkin seeds and ricotta salata. Another menu highlight is the baked mac & cheese, which has the perfect bite thanks to a combination of cheddar, American and Swiss cheeses.
The interior of the main dining room is bright, modern and uncluttered, and the crowd is generally a mix of downtown scenesters, locals, and the odd smattering of tourists. If you’re planning an event anytime soon, consider Delicatessen for your dinner/cocktail party: the courtyard is a private events space lined with stainless steel beams under a glass roof that can seat up to 30 people for dinner, or 45 for cocktails.
We'll definitely be taking a long lunch and soaking up the sunshine at Delicatessen this week, and suggest you do too. Afterall, everyone needs a little Vitamin D, right?
Have you dined at Delicatessen? Love it or hate it?
